Schedule of Disabling and Purging Blackboard Courses At the end of a semester or session, all Blackboard courses will be disabled according to the following schedule.
I. Disabling Courses
When a course is disabled, all course materials remain
accessible to the instructor, but not to the students. An instructor can disable
a course at any time by going to “Settings” in the Course Control Panel and
changing the “Course Availability” setting to “No”.
All courses will be disabled by OAT according to the following schedule:

Summer '06 disabled end of Fall '06 |
II. Purging Courses
When a course is purged, it will no longer be available in Blackboard.
We strongly suggest that instructors export their course materials onto other media
before the scheduled purge dates. After the course has been purged, it cannot be retrieved.
To export a course, go to “Course Options” in the Course Control Panel and click
on “Export Course”. You will see a screen with options listing the items from
your course that can be exported to your media. Check the items you want to save
or export and then click “Submit”.
Courses will be retained for one full year plus the following academic year semester (fall or spring).
